As a future high school English Teacher, using excel will definitely come in handy. I will be able to use it to calculate my student's grades and keep up with them throughout the year. I've always planned on acknowledging the students who work hard so I will also  organize the student's grades from highest to lowest in another excel sheet. I would also pay attention to which assignments/areas that my students lack in so I will also organize their low performing grades. I've learned that excel has many functions, so there is no need to limit myself.                 When reviewing my classmates blogs, I thought it was interesting to see that we have the same interests in learning technology. We all wanted to learn more about different educational software/games that will help our students. I also was relieved to discover that I was not the only one who found it harder to use certain software as opposed to the...

A  flipped classroom is when students learn firsthand all the materials outside of  the classroom. Most of the time, this is done by a teacher recording a lecture, having their students learn the material on their own. After the students have been sent home with the lecture, they come to class to analyze the material by completing work and discussing what they learned. This gives students a sense of independence and responsibility. This way, they are and should be well prepared for their upcoming class. https://cft.vanderbilt.edu/guides-sub-pages/flipping-the-classroom/         Open education, open content, and open source are all connected in assuring equal educational access for everyone. Taking into account how some people may not have the funds for an education, people have posted instructional videos online for free. Anyone who has internet access are able to go online and view or enroll in one of these courses. Open co...

Adaptive technologies are equipped to fit the needs of students with disabilities. Not only are they designed for physical disabilities, but learning disabilities as well. For example, a student with a physical disability may not be able to see a screen due to impaired vision. A student with a learning disability may not perform well in a particular subject compared to others. In this case, special technology tools are made to adapt to the students' learning experience.I have not seen anyone or heard of anyone personally who uses this but I appreciate the fact that all students have an equal opportunity of learning.                  When trying to incorporate Bloom's Taxonomy in a lesson, I can use PowerPoint to support student learning. PowerPoint is a great way to get creative with my students while also allowing them to think critically. I can use things that I know would be familiar to my students by recallin...

Before taking this EME course, I have never thought about using twitter. I always thought that it was just another pointless social media cite. Luckily, using twitter in this class has allowed me to bridge the gap in my networking as well as academic skills. I have been able to connect with people who have similar interests as me. These people range from large groups within different school distracts to my fellow peers. I have become more aware of the business side of education too. Twitter has been a great tool as far as my awareness in the educational field.         Completing a web page was something out of my comfort zone. I got to become more familiar with the weebly website and different tools in creating my very own page. What stood out to me the most and a tool that I will use in the future is importing a google calendar into a website. This way, I can plan out all of my future students' assignments ahead of time. They will be ab...

http://www.lymeschool.org/gradeKmath2.html In searching for class pages, I came across an elementary school called Lyme School in New Hampshire. I was able to locate the school address, online resources for the students, and even a Newsletter from the principal. you could also see the school hours and staff on the home page. I was also able to see that they were assigned homework, but I could not see what type of homework it was. Being that I am not a student there nor a parent, I could not see the  activities they had posted for different grade levels. for example, I clicked on Mrs. Wilcox 1st grade class to see the types of activities she had planned. However, I was unable to view it fully. It is a k-5 grade school and each grade level did include class pages.                 According to the podcast, there are many ways to use technology affectively to accomplish my professional ...

Twitter is a great way to engage with people of similar interests. I found myself interacting with people who are already in their career field. It allows me to already develop connections with people in the educational filed. This is extremely important because it gives me the connections and head-start that I need.          The digital divide effects student success in schools because the teacher's instructional methods may not get through to the students. Some causes of digital divide could be that the teachers are not adapting to change as well as students. Also, there could be a huge age gap between the tteachers and students. Being that we are now in an era where technology is rapidly increasing, it has transferred into the class...
