In searching for class pages, I came across an elementary school called Lyme School in New Hampshire. I was able to locate the school address, online resources for the students, and even a Newsletter from the principal. you could also see the school hours and staff on the home page. I was also able to see that they were assigned homework, but I could not see what type of homework it was. Being that I am not a student there nor a parent, I could not see the  activities they had posted for different grade levels. for example, I clicked on Mrs. Wilcox 1st grade class to see the types of activities she had planned. However, I was unable to view it fully. It is a k-5 grade school and each grade level did include class pages.

According to the podcast, there are many ways to use technology affectively to accomplish my professional responsibilities. First off, technology will allow me to connect with other professionals are a just as serious and dedicated to their job as I am. By connecting with those people through technology, I will be able to learn new skills in areas that I lack. Also, I can refer to techniques that other people in my career field use when needed. Most importantly, I can help other educators in areas that they lack as well. Having the opportunity to help others is very rewarding.

After visiting the Technology Sandbox in last week's class, I realized that there are technological advances that could be used in the classroom. For the past year, I have heard discussions of 3D printers and how tthey could be useful in the classroom. It wasn't until I visited the Technology Snadbox, that I understood why that statement was made. I was shocked to discover the uses of a 3D printer and how it differed from a regular printer. It is used to make different shapes and objects that you can physically touch. It is so incredible to also discover that the objects are  made from sugar. I can defenitly see this being used in thousands of classrooms.

  1. I am glad that you like the 3D printer. Some people don't like 3D printer because it does not have a direct implication for many subjects. Some people see a lot of potentials of using 3D printer as a curriculum integration tool that help students to pull their knowledge together.
