Based on my prior knowledge, I feel like the ELA technology standard that I am most prepared to teach is Multimedia Literature. This involves analyzing digital texts and relating it to the written component. I"m most comfortable with this standard in relation to the other ones because these are skills I have use for most of my life. Throughout my educational career, there have always been a point where I had to relate readings to digital media. Even in Elementary school, we would have to listen to recordings, and tie it back in to the text.
The technology software that I would like to use with my students are Microsoft word, Excel, Powerpoint, and other apps for educational purposes. The digital citizenship concepts that I would have to address are how to properly use these apps without putting themselves, or others in danger. I will make sure to incorporate how important it is to adhere to proper conduct when using technology. The age range of my students would be from 12-15. This is the time that they become alert in many aspects. Teaching them these concepts at this age will set the foundation for the rest of their life.
I have learned tons of new skills from creating a Newsletter. I learned how to break a page into two columns, and how to incorporate compelling elements when designing things. I learned that little details can make a big difference. For example, When titling the differnt sections of my design, I used regular bold print. I went back and edited that part to Word Art and it added so much more to the design. Also, I was having difficulty deleting unnessesssary pages. I searched on google how to delete blank pages, and I discovered that sometime page may have hidden paragraphs. That was really interesting to me because that one little thing stopped me from deleting a "blank" page.
